The Coach Stop Serving Travelers Since 1832 Hotel, Tavern, Dining There is a long and interesting history to our main building. The Coach Stop has seen use as a Stage Coach Stop, Tavern, Inn, Post Office and private residence in its history. Travelers began arriving at our door in 1832. The original building has grown to include a Tavern, Dining Room and 10 Interior Corridor Guest Rooms, each with private baths.
Our "Hotel" We have 10 rooms above our dining and kitchen areas, 4 Single King Rooms, 4 Double King Rooms, 1 Single Queen Room and our "Vampire Room" (don't be frightened, it just doesn't have windows). The rooms are all "walk up" as they did not build elevators in 1832. All rooms have mini-fridge, microwave oven, hight speed wifi and flat screen TVs. All TVs are now ROKU, so bring your subsctiptions.
Our Motel Traditional, pull your car right up to your room, motel building, 8 Double Queen Rooms, 9 Double Full Rooms, 1 Double Full Handicap Room and 1 Single Queen Handicap Room. All rooms have mini-fridge, microwave oven, hight speed wifi and flat screen TVs. All TVs are now ROKU, so bring your subsctiptions.
Our Outdoor Pool Opens seasonally. Please inquire about availability when you book.
Our Stone Cabin Basic efficiency accommodations for just a bit more than a standard motel room. A good option if you don't want to eat out for every meal of your stay, or if you just want a bit more space or wish to have a bit more space between you and other guests. The main space has a King Sized Bed, Pull-Out Queen Sofa Bed, Separate Kitchenette and Full Bath. We do offer weekly and monthly rates for vacationers and out of town workers.
Please note: All of our TVs are now ROKU, as local cable is no longer available to our property due to our government allowing Blue Ridge Cable to monopolize the industry in our area and their ability to cut off service to commercial properties at their desire regardless of whether or not another provider is available. Some local, and other, channels that you may be used to will not be avaialble to you unless you have a streaming subscription of your own. If you have Dish, DirecTV, YouTube TV or any other paid TV subscription service you can log into any channel that you currently enjoy at home. We do have a full array of free streaming channels available to satisfy most of your TV needs and we do have Dish available in the Tavern with a Sports and Outdoor package as well as local channels.
Outdoor Activities We are the closest place to stay and eat to the Darling Run and Marsh Creek access points of the Pine Creek Rail Trail, Ansonia/Big Meadow Canoe Launch, Colton Point State Park, Pine Creek Outfitters and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon Snowmobile Club.
Wildlife Pursuit and Viewing The very best Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, Biking and Wildlife Viewing in the Commonwealth, maybe in the entire Northeast. Bear, deer, turkey, coyote and more can be seen frequently from our grounds. Walk to the Big Pine for world class trout fishing and floating.
Please Note: We are not in the town of Wellsboro. We do have a Wellsboro address. We have no control over that. We are located in Ansonia, about 10 miles west of Wellsboro on Route 6. If you are looking to be close to the PA Grand Canyon and all of the outdoor activities that are afforded in the PA Wilds, this is the place for you! If you want a nice, clean, room at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. If you want an onsite tavern and restaurant with fine quality food and drink at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. If you want to stroll out the front door and partake in nicknack shopping this is not the place for you, unless you don't mind driving 10 minutes. If you would like to complain about the fact that we have a Wellsboro address, please take that up with the US Postal Service.
Pet Policy: We have two, and only two, pet friendly rooms. Please call us directly to inquire about availability. If you book through an online travel agency DO NOT BRING YOUR PET WITH YOU! You will not be permitted access to the room with a pet unless you have cleared it with us ahead of time. There is a $15/pet/night pet fee if we are able to accommodate you.
